Our Mission

Banga NextGen's mission is to celebrate, preserve, and promote Bengali heritage within the American diaspora. We strive to build a vibrant community that bridges generations, fosters connections, and inspires a deep appreciation for the richness of Bengali culture. Through social gatherings, educational programs, and cultural showcases, we aim to empower individuals to embrace their roots, share their stories, and contribute to a flourishing legacy for future generations.

Our Board of Directors

Disari Bhattacharya President

Disari Bhattacharya is the current President and co-founder of Banga NextGen. She is dedicated to building an inclusive and connected Bengali-American community that celebrates the richness of culture and heritage across generations. Beyond her role at BNG, she isa data scientist who finds joy in creative outlets that let her explore new ideas and self-expression. She looks forward to seeing BNG continue to grow as both a cultural home and a vibrant community for the next generation!

Shan Chakraborty Vice President

Shankhadip is the current VP of Banga NextGen after serving as Treasurer in the previous term. As one of the co-founders of the organizations, he aims to see it grow further in the near future and continue to strengthen Bengali-American NextGen community through the preservation and celebration of our culture & heritage. In addition to singing & teaching Hindustani Classical Vocal Music, he is a data analyst at Bank of America and watches a lot of football and cricket in his free time.

Tanaya Badsa Secretary

My American and Bengali identities have always shaped who I am and how I see the world. Last year, I served as Social Events Lead, and this year I’m excited to contribute as Secretary. BNG feels like home—a space to celebrate my roots, share my story, and grow alongside others balancing tradition and self-discovery. I’m also on Team Maach (not Mangsho—don’t judge!).

Aditya Sanyal Treasurer

Riju enjoys volunteering at Banga Next Gen events while balancing his career as an internal medicine physician. He enjoys sports, reading, and practicing Bengali and Spanish.
